Factors to Consider in Golf Netting and Landfill Netting Project Pricing

Can you give me a ballpark figure for our project?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions asked upon our initial contact with customers. Although we understand the desire to obtain a “rough” number quickly, this question is similar to asking a waiter “what does a meal cost” or asking a home builder “what does a house cost”? Like these businesses, our is unique business, and literally, no two projects are identical. Therefore we will always answer, “we will get you something in writing after running a spreadsheet on your project” Some of the factors that contribute to our pricing include, but are not limited to the following considerations prior to or during a consultation with a golf netting professional like that of Judge Netting’s;

1. What height and length does the barrier need to be? The size and scope of the job is clearly the most important factor in the cost of the job.

2. What is the most important factor driving the construction of the barrier? This could be containment of balls, the safety of neighbors and other participants or fans, and the importance of aesthetics and the longevity of the barrier. (See photos of our competitors’ projects)

3. How long does the barrier need to function? Consideration should be given to the lifespan of the business, the length of a lease or potential sale of the property for another purpose, and of course potential encroachment either planned or speculated from residential or industrial development.

4. When is the facility looking to construct the barrier? Extreme temperatures and inclement weather are particularly important factors in our type of construction. Large poles and high netting require heavy equipment and the taller, the heavier. Wind and other weather factors can make our work very difficult, unsafe, and in some cases impossible to perform.

5. Where is your facility located? Although we have performed work from Hawaii to the west and New York to the east, the further away from our primary locations, the higher the mobilization cost. Furthermore, many urban areas of the country are extremely expensive to house and transport our personnel. We frequently offer a discount if we have another project in the area or the project can be done on the way to or from another project.

6. Will the project require a permit and or approvals from neighbors or regional government agencies? Whether or not a permit is required, we will never build something we can’t back up with structural engineering should a permit be required. We have had extensive experience in many areas of the country and are frequently asked to speak to government planning and neighborhood commissions and committees.

In conclusion, Judge Netting will always put our quotes in writing, and unlike most of our competitors, we will never lowball or mislead a potential client and then nail them with change orders. Our proposals are always based upon our extensive knowledge of the business and in many cases our experience with construction in the area, or on the specific site. Most importantly, We will always quote consistent with two of our treasured values, namely, “our customers are of paramount importance” and ”we are honest and act with integrity.”

This will never be the case with our work, and although we may not always be the least expensive contractor in the business, Judge Netting is always the best!
